The Bible talks about “sons of God” and “children of God.”
The word “son” is translated from the Greek word huios, whereas the word for “child” comes from the Greek word teknon. Greek scholars state that the word teknon (child) gives prominence to the fact of birth, while huios (son) stresses the dignity and character of the relationship. Therefore, one shows the relationship we have with the Father and the other exhibits the nature of that relationship. A child is a liability but a son is an asset. The difference between the two lies in the maturity level. According to Galatians 4:1, as long as we are children (immature) we do not differ at all from a slave although we are master of all. This series is an important teaching for all believers who desire to know how to possess their inheritance in God.
